Esta pieza de Cupra nos mete de lleno en la mente del piloto, para ver qué siente en ese instante previo. El arranque le muestra en medio de la nada, solos él y su coche. Pero la perspectiva se cierra sobre su rostro y pupilas dilatadas, a punto de saltar a un mar de sensaciones y recuerdos, a través de una mezcla de estilos de cámara y texturas de luces.
La incertidumbre por el desafío que supone participar en el campeonato Extreme-E fue la línea de salida de Dani Fernández Abelló para dar luz y oscuridad, frío y calor, a la frenética experiencia de recorrer paisajes extremos en un modelo eléctrico y sostenible.
El temblor de la cámara y la escalada hasta un rojo tensión nos recuerda a la atmósfera cinematográfica de futuro distópico. La narrativa cambia, a la manera de un acelerado biopic, el contraste de planos abiertos, lo desconocido y el vacío, con otros muy cerrados para entrar de lleno en las emociones. La escalada de colores, el cambio de formatos y la desdibujada figura del protagonista transmite un torbellino de sensaciones, que le propulsan a ese salto final. Y por delante, un hombre solo con su máquina recorriendo la inmensidad, como el pionero de un western. Eso es lo que siente Mattias y el equipo Cupra, y eso es lo que nos hace experimentar este viaje visual.

This Cupra piece puts us inside the driver’s mind, to see how he feels at that moment before the race. The start shows him in the middle of nowhere, just him and his car. But the perspective closes in on his face and dilated pupils, about to jump into a sea of sensations and memories, through a mix of camera styles and lighting textures.
The uncertainty of the challenge of participating in the Extreme-E championship was the starting line for Dani Fernández Abelló to give light and darkness, cold and heat, to the frenetic experience of travelling through extreme landscapes in an electric and sustainable model.
The shaking of the camera and the escalation to a red tension reminds us of the cinematographic atmosphere of a dystopian future. The narrative shifts, in the manner of a fast-paced biopic, the contrast of open shots, the unknown and the void, with other very close ones to enter fully into the emotions. The escalation of colours, the change of formats and the blurred figure of the protagonist transmits a whirlwind of sensations, which propel him to that final leap. And ahead, a man alone with his machine travelling through the immensity, like the pioneer of a western. That is what Mattias and the Cupra team feel, and that is what makes us experience this visual journey.
